AFP reported that Kuwait will donate 5 million barrels of oil worth over USD 550 million at current prices to Japan as an expression of solidarity with the earthquake and tsunami struck nation.

Mr Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al Sabah oil minister of Kuwait said that "To show our solidarity with Japan the council of ministers has decided to contribute 5 million barrels of crude or products to Japan.”
