Japanese earthquake - Saudi Aramco announces USD 20 million aid
Nikkei reported that Saudi Arabian Oil Co will provide USD 20 million in emergency assistance for Japan's earthquake recovery effort.
Mr Khalid Al Falih CEO of Armco told Nikkei that the details are still being hammered out with Japanese authorities but the aid would mainly take the form of fuel.
The state-owned firm, known as Saudi Aramco, set up a disaster relief fund with Iwatani Corp in 2009. Since the March 11 temblor, it has already distributed 10,000 portable burners and 60,000 butane gas canisters in Miyagi Prefecture and other affected areas.
