
Menafn reported that the Kingdom's imports of crude oil during the first 5 months of 2009 dropped by 64.7% to stand at JOD 312 million compared to JOD 884.4 million during the same period in 2008.
Figures on external trade released by the Department of Statistics showed that in May only, the value of imported crude oil declined by 78.5% to stand at JOD 43.6 million compared to JOD 202.6 million during the same month 2008.
According to DoS, Jordan's imports of diesel during January to May period went down by 47.2% to JOD 63 million compared to JOD 119.4 million during the same period in 2008, while the country's gas imports stood at JOD 44.2 million during the first 5 months of this year compared to JOD 64 million.
The Kingdom's imports of petrol during the January to May period stood at JOD 20 million compared to JOD 28.4 million during the same period in 2008. According to the figures which showed that Jordan's imports of natural gas rose by 25.8% during the first 5 months of this year as it stood at JOD 112.8 million compared to JOD 89.6 million during the same period of 2008.
