
MEED reported that consultants to prepare regulatory, technical and economic framework for future projects
As per report, Jordan’s Energy & Mineral Resources Ministry has short listed bidders for a series of consultancy contracts covering renewable energy projects. The first contract involves helping Amman to strengthen the country’s legal, regulatory and institutional framework for developing renewable energy schemes.
The 6 short listed bidders for that contract are Italy’s Cesi; Canada’s Hatch; the UK’s Mott MacDonald; Kema of the Netherlands; Germany’s Fichtner and a team of Parsons Brinckerhoff and Booz & Company, both of the US, the UK’s DLA Piper and the local Sanad Law Group.
6 groups have also been short listed for a second contract to estimate prices for various renewable energy projects. They are: Fichtner, Spain’s International Technical Assistance Consultants, a UK team of IPA Energy & Water Economics and SgurrEnergy, the US’ Nexant, Kema and the UK’s PA Consulting Group.
A third contract covers the provision of consultancy services for the integration of wind farms in to the national grid. The ministry has short listed Nexant; Fichtner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the UK’s CMS Cameron McKenna with Ernst & Young and the local Ibrahim Bakr Law Office, International Technical Assistance Consultants and France’s Gide Loyrette Nouel with the local Ali Sharif Zubi Advocates & Legal Consultants.
