
AFP reported that an international consortium led by Korea Electric Power Company has won an USD 800 million power plant project in Jordan.
The consortium which also involves Japan's Mitsubishi and Finland's diesel engine maker Wartsila will build 600 MW plant for Jordan's National Electric Power.
The Korean firm said that it would hold 60% stake in the project with Mitsubishi having 35% and Wartsila 5%. The consortium aims to complete construction by 2014 and operate the plant for 25 years after completion. It would invest about USD 120 million in the project.
