
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced here on Tuesday the implementation of a project to strengthen the infrastructure services in five villages in the summer retreats in Mount Lebanon, at a cost of USD 5 million.
KFAED's representative in Lebanon Nawaf Al Dabous said that on the occasion of sorting out the financial bids for the project includes supporting of infrastructure for the region as well as the development of electricity, water and sanitation networks.
He said that that these projects would primarily benefit citizens of the villages and the summer vacationers, stressing Kuwait's keenness to support and fund projects in the summer retreat areas as they are a key element of the national economy.
He also stressed the Fund's keenness to support these projects as they are important in promoting tourism as well as ensuring the basic needs of people throughout the year in the regions of Hamana, Al Shabaniya, Bhamdoun, Al Qala'a and Falougha.
