KOTC signs contract to establish liquefied gas plant

KUNA reported that Kuwait Oil Tanker Company signed KWD 54.6 million contracts with South Korean Hanhwa Company to establish a liquefied gas plant.

Mr Nabeel Burisli CMD of KOTC said that the project to be established in Um Al Aish area in northern Kuwait aims to stress the state's production capability. The new plant will provide 15 million cylinders of gas every year 160% of the capability of the current plant. The plant will be built on an area of 150,000 square meters.

Mr Burisli said that the project will provide the needs of the northern region of the state and the new cities and projects like Bobyan Port and Al-Hareer City, adding that it will serve the local market until 2030. The project will use the latest technology in filling gas cylinders and will use the most safe and environmentally safe ways for storage.

He said that the project will provide job opportunities for Kuwaiti technicians who were already hired.

Mr Hyun Chung Kim CMD of Hanhwa said that the company uses high quality and safety standards and will do its best to ensure the success of the project. He expressed happiness for the company's cooperation and good relations with KOTC.
