
China Harbour has won the contract to design and build a USD 50 million second container terminal at the King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
The development of the terminal is part of ongoing expansion works at the Dammam Port. The USD 50 million project involves construction of a container terminal to the west of the existing port complex and a 600m-long 16 meter deep quay wall.
The dock will be accompanied by 450,000 square meter of onshore facilities with a total capacity of 3 million twenty foot equivalent Units. The Saudi Global Ports Company project is expected to be completed by August 2014.
