AKnews reported that forthcoming oil and gas conferences organized by private companies and advertised on billboards around the region have not been sanctioned despite their claims to the contrary.

The Kurdistan Ministry of Natural Resources official said that only two organizations have secured authorization to stage oil and gas conferences in the region in 2011; the Turkish company Steam whose conference is on September 15th 2011 and the British firm CWC whose 2 day conference begins on November 14th 2011.
