Larsen and Toubro win substation and transmission projects

MEED reported that India's Larsen & Toubro has been awarded engineering, procurement and construction contracts worth a total of USD 218.8 million to build seven substations and 153 kilometers of transmission lines in the UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

In the UAE, Larsen & Toubro has won two EPC contracts totaling USD 58.5 million from Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity. The deals involve building two 132kV substations.

L&T's JV company in Oman, L&T Oman, has been awarded contracts worth a total of USD 102.4 million. This work includes the construction of two 220kV substations for the Oman Electricity & Transmission Company, and three 33 kV substations for the Dhofar Power Company & Royal Court Affairs.

Larsen & Toubro Saudi Arabia, a fully owned subsidiary of L&T, has been awarded two contracts to build 380kV transmission line projects in the kingdom. The first transmission line will be 100 km in length, and the second will be 53 kilometers long.
