Leighton division wins Abu Dhabi contracts

Leighton Holdings Limited's 45% held Middle East division has won two new contracts in Abu Dhabi worth more than AED 600 million.

Al Habtoor Leighton Group said that it had been awarded a contract to construct accommodation and administration facilities at Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operation's Qusahwira oilfield.

Mr Laurie Voyer CEO of Al Habtoor Leighton Group said that this was the company's first contract with ADCO. It was also awarded a contract to design and construct chilled water facilities at the new Zayed University in Abu Dhabi which Al Habtoor Leighton Group is currently building in join venture with Murray and Roberts.

Leighton Contractors said that it and US-based Black & Veatch were jointly targeting small to mid-scale liquefied natural gas projects in Australia for Black & Veatch's patented PRICO liquefaction process for LNG production.
