According to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, Iranian state run steelmaker Mobarakeh Steel produced 3,188,000 tonnes of steel slab in the first 8 months of the current Iranian year indicating an increase of 9% compared to the same period of the last Iranian year.

In the 1 month period from October 21st to November 20th 2011, Mobarakeh Steel produced 442,000 tonnes of slab which constitutes a record monthly slab output for the company. Revamping of 8 electric arc furnaces by Mobarakeh via upgrading of transformers from 90 MW to 120 MW has recently contributed to increasing the steelmaker's output.
