Iran Daily quoted Mr Mohammad Masoud Samieinejad CEO of Isfahan's Mobarakeh Steel Company as saying that the company has surpassed the production target in the first nine months of the current Iranian year which started March 2011.
He said that "Hitting the record of 100 smelting per day and producing 18,053 tonnes of steel in the month of Dey (November to December 2011) is another golden page in the history of the company as well as the country's steel industry."
Mr Samieinejad said that by producing 4,144,872 tonnes of slab, the company's experts achieved a 9% growth as compared with the same period of previous year of 3,819,931 tonnes.
He said that "There was also a 6% rise in the production of hot coils, as the company's hot rolling mill produced over 4 million tonnes of hot coils in the past nine months."
Pointing to the record set in the daily production of steel making and casting plant, the CEO said that as a result of production growth, there was a 3% rise in the transportation of products to customers.
He added that "Mobarakeh Steel Company has taken huge steps to meet the demand of the domestic market by selling more than 4,107,000 tonnes of various products."
According to him, the cold rolling mill produced 923,700 tonnes of cold coils and the two stand mill produced 122,000 tonnes of cold coils, achieving a 6% and 17% growth, respectively.
Mr Samieinejad noted that the tinning line produced 79,520 tonnes of tinned sheets (11% rise) while the production of galvanized coils reached 157,000 tonnes (3.3%s rise).
He further said the steel making and casting plant have set unprecedented records in producing 505,000 tonnes of slabs in the month of Azar (October to November 2011).
He added that "By improving machinery and equipment, lowering production costs and economizing, the production trend of the company shows continuing growth."
On the accomplishments of Mobarakeh Steel Company, the company's director for second metallurgy unit, Mr Mohammad Jafar Parsi, said that two records have been set in the Ladle Furnace unit, namely 24 smelting in Ladle Furnace No 1 (which has been unprecedented in the past 13 years since the launch of ladle furnaces) and 21 smelting in Ladle Furnace No 5, only six months after its launch.
Mr Parsi attributed the company's achievements to several factors, including the smooth supply line in the Purchase Unit, good services provided by the Transportation and Refractory Units, reduction of emergency stoppage of machinery, increasing ladles to the production cycle and dispatching the melted product to the casting plant in due time and with proper quality and temperature.
