It is reported that steel scrap prices took a beating last week as prices of steel billets and rebars etc remained on down trend
As per reports, some European deals prompted Turkish steel mills to bid lower for US steel scrap cargos
Rumors are indicating EU scrap dealers having booked different cargoes to Turkey as follows:
HMS 1/2 70/30 - USD 420 per tonne CFR FO
HMS 1/2 80/20 - USD 430 per tonne CFR FO
HMS 1 - USD 442 per tonne CFR FO
An important Turkish producer of long products is reported to have given a bid at USD 430 per tonne against USA offer of USD 453 per tonne for HMS 1/2 80/20.
It seems that USA suppliers are not available to consider prices lower than USD 447 per tonne o USD 450 per tonne CFR FO
