
MEED reported that Morocco’s Office National de Electricite has invited the two bidders for its Tarfaya wind farm project to hold a final round of technical clarifications in the third week of October.
The state utility has yet to open financial bids submitted by the UK’s International Power with Morocco’s Nareva Holding and Belgium’s Suez Energy International. The companies submitted 3 separate proposals: technical proposals, commercial offers and tariffs for the off take from the project.
The winning bidder will build a 200 MW wind farm which will begin operating in 2011. The developer will have the option of increasing the size of the farm to 300 MW at a later stage.
The UK’s Garrad Hassan & Partners is the technical adviser Chadbourne & Parke of the US is the international legal adviser while Naciri & Associes and France’s Gide Loyrette Nouel are the local legal advisers.
