
The News reported that Mr Rehman Malik adviser on Internal Affairs will be filing his written submissions in the court office on the directives of Supreme Court in the contempt of court case regarding FIA’s change of investigators in the Pakistan Steel Mills corruption case.
A three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the contempt of court case against Mr Rehman Malik.
The CJ addressed Mr Rehman Malik and questioned him on forming a new investigating team while the matter was already under scrutiny. The committee was formed following the court’s orders so why did he interfere by making changes.
Mr Rehman Malik said that he wanted to present his submissions before the bench. The court advised him to hand over his submissions to the court office.
Later, the hearing was adjourned till July 23rd 2012. It is pertinent to mention that the SC had issued him contempt notice for interfering in the Steel Mills corruption case during its pendency with the court.
