MEED reported that South Africa's Murray & Roberts Steel plans to open a rebar plant in Dubai Industrial city in May.

Mr Rob Noonan CEO of Murray & Roberts told an industry conference in Dubai that the plant covers 20,000 square meters and will have capacity of 300,000 tonnes a year.

Murray & Roberts' existing rebar plant in Sharjah produces 150,000 tonnes a year.
