Iran Daily reported that National Petrochemical Company plans to produce various grades of petrochemicals.
Mr Abdolhossein Bayat MD of NPC said that “The plan will be based on meeting the needs of domestic consumers and customers. In our meetings with the Working Group on Market Regulation, we reached agreement to produce specific grades based on petrochemical plants' potentials on the one hand and customers' needs on the other."
Mr Bayat said that "The Ministry of Industries, Mines and Trade should assess the needs of complementary industries, which are known the as downstream sector to determine the amount and type of their need to petrochemical products."
He said referring to the development plans of the petrochemical industry on diversification of products in recent years that previous development plans were revolving around production of basic products like ethylene, methanol and intermediary products such as different kinds of polyethylene, which was the result of domestic and foreign demand for this kind of products.
He added that market saturation of intermediary and basic products and rising attitude of producers towards production of some special products has prompted us to revise our production policy.
