
Khaleej Times reported that Nexans USD 200 million cable manufacturing production facility in Qatar started commercial production. The EUR 5 billion French cable giant which provides expertise and innovation in cabling across various sectors including energy, transport and telecom networks to shipbuilding, oil and gas, nuclear power, automotive, electronics, aeronautics, handling and automation.
Mr Nabil Zerkut regional head of Commercial Operations at Nexans said that "We have realized this regional potential and set up JV in Mesaieed Industrial City 40 kilometers Doha."
Mr Zerkut said that Nexans has also provided the entire cabling network on the eight seismic survey vessels built in Dubai Drydocks over 2008 to 2010 to the tune of AED 12 million the project executed by Al Samier. Nexans also has a major presence in the Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition currently under way at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
