No Turkish assistance in Mining - Consul General

The Nation cited Mr Murat M Onart consul general of Turkey at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry as saying that free trade agreement between Pakistan and Turkey will be signed next year. Due to law and order situation in Balochistan it is not possible for us to provide any assistance in mining in the province.

Mr Murat said that we are not able to deal with the businessmen in construction sector it’s a big deal which should be finalized on a higher level. He said that a large number of Turkish people are settled in different countries of the Europe and it’s our principal market.

Earlier, Mr Mian Abrar Aahmed president of KCCI highlighted the investment opportunities in Karachi and other parts of the country. In different fields including agriculture we can provide the assistance to Turkey.

Mr Majyd Aziz former chairman of KCCI said that the businessmen form KCCI discussed with the Consul General different issues including trade between the two nations. We also invited the Consul General to join the business community at My Karachi Exhibition.

Mr Majyd said that we ready to provide stalls to Turkish firms in My Karachi Exhibition where they can easily approach the Pakistani market. Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan and other countries in the block have right to trade with each other.
