AFP reported that Austrian oil and gas giant OMV was preparing to restart production in Yemen following the repair of a pipeline damaged during the political unrest in the country.

A company spokeswoman said that repair work was completed at the end of last week. But it will be some time before the pipeline is operating again at full capacity. Last year, OMV's production in Yemen amounted to 6,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
