Contractors interested in new business opportunities in Oman have until November 30th 2010 to submit pre qualification applications for the construction of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.

Oman’s tourism, investment and development organization, Omran is inviting both local and international contractors with experience to apply for work on Phase 1 of the project. The Phase I includes 4 separate construction packages including the building of the exhibition halls, car parks and energy center the construction of the convention center as well as packages for 5 star convention hotel and all site roads and utilities works.

To date, the project design is in its advanced stages with soil investigations completed. The site preparation and enabling works have also already commenced after the initial contract was awarded earlier this year. The project is part of a wider plant to boost tourism in the country in line with Oman’s tourism and development strategy.
