Bloomberg reported that Petroleum Development Oman found a material discovery of oil at a site called Amal Southeast which the state controlled company estimates to hold 300 million barrels of crude.

PDO said that production at Amal Southeast will start this year. The site is near the country’s existing Amal East onshore oilfield.
