
The Dawn reported that the National Highway Authority has so far spent PKR 4 billion from the PKR 8 billion allocated under the Public Sector Development Program 2011 for projects in Balochistan.
Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan communications minister of Pakistan said that "The NHA has been working on 14 road projects in the province and work on about half of them has been completed."
The parliamentarians included Mr Abdur Rahim Mandokhel, Major General (retd) Mr Abdul Qadir Baloch, Mr Ismail Buledi and Mir Wali Badini. Communications secretary Mr Anwar Ahmad Khan and NHA chairman Mr Syed Muhammad Ali Gardezi also attended the meeting.
The minister said that about 38% of NHA road network was in Balochistan and funds should be allocated in proportion to the number of schemes.
