Pakistan government has no plans for privatization of PSM

Mr Anwer Ali Cheema federal minister for production as saying that the government has no plans for privatization of Pakistan Steel Mills and it is working on increasing its production capacity.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan Steel, he made these remarks during a meeting with acting chief executive officer of Pakistan Steel.

He said that Pakistan Steel was the backbone of country’s economy and the only iron making industry in Pakistan. Ministry of Production is taking positive steps to take the Pakistan Steel out from financial difficulties. His ministry was working on transparent policies for Pakistan Steel and other organizations on the basis of government policies.

Mr Cheema said that “The problem of liquidity and the availability of raw materials for Pakistan Steel will be arranged soon, which will help Pakistan Steel to increase its production and also a transparent sales policy will helps to increase the profits of Pakistan Steel.”
