The News reported that Port Qasim handles a cargo volume of 38,008 tonnes comprising 27,294 tonnes of imports and 10,714 tonnes of exports during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was measured at 55% at the port where a total of 6 ships are currently occupying berths to load and offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals and edible oil respectively.

The port witnessed brisk shipping activity where five ships, carrying containers, cement, chemicals and edible oil were allotted berths at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and LCT respectively.

Meanwhile, another four ships scheduled to load and offload bitumen, furnace oil, chemicals and edible also arrived at the outer anchorage of the port.
