Khaleej Times cited Mr Saad Abdulla Al Kuwari CEO of Tasweeq as saying that with the commissioning of various new projects, Qatar's current LPG production has grown to over 10 million tonnes per annum more than doubling since 2008.
He said that the country expects another 1 million tonnes to 2 million tonnes per annum increase over the next several years. Qatar embarked on an extensive development of its North Field Gas reservoir, the largest non associated gas field in the world. After a decade of remarkable growth, Qatar is now the world's largest exporter of LNG at 77 million tonnes per year. It has also become one of the largest liquefied petroleum gas exporters in the world.
Mr Al Kuwari said that along with LNG, other projects have also been developed, including gas to liquids projects, plus condensate and crude oil refining. In order to centralize the marketing and logistics of rapidly growing non LNG products, the government of Qatar created Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Company Limited.
He said that Tasweeq markets and supplies LPG, as refrigerated propane and butane with the ability to sell both on FOB basis or to deliver to end user's receiving facilities anywhere in the world. The Asia Pacific market is the largest source of demand for Middle East LPG exports. Main markets for Qatar's LPG exports are North East Asia and South East Asia.
He added that Tasweeq is committed to deliver reliably with high quality of customer service. We utilize our commercial, logistical and shipping capabilities to support long term business relationships, providing value to customers.
