Qatar will sign a final agreement on July 7th 2012 to build a steel plant in the Algerian city of Jijel.

The agreement will be signed by Algerian industry minister Mohammad bin Moradi and Qatari minister of economy and finance Yusuf Kamal

The factory is expected to produce, in its initial phase, 2.5 million tonnes of steel every year.

The plant will be 51% owned by Algeria and 49% owned by Qatar.
