Reuters reported that Qatargas signed an agreement with Gasal QSC to supply gaseous nitrogen via Gasal's pipeline at Qatar's industrial city of Ras Laffan.

Gasal, a JV between Air Liquide, Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company will supply Qatargas with gaseous nitrogen via its 5km pipeline network built and commissioned in 2010.

Mr Christian Last CEO of Gasal said that "The first 5 kilometers are only the beginning of a Ras Laffan wide network which will be constructed in support of Qatar's National Vision 2030 and the further industrial establishment."

Gaseous nitrogen is an industrial gas used in oil, gas and chemical downstream industries. Qatar is the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas or super cooled gas transported by tanker.
