
According to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in the Q2 of 2010, the number of hours worked in construction in Turkey rose by 2.3% YoY while the increase rate on QoQ basis was recorded at 13.5%.
The YoY increase mainly arose from the number of hours worked in civil engineering which increased by 7% YoY and was up 21.4% over the Q1 while the number of hours worked in construction of buildings rose slightly by 0.2% YoY and was up 11.1% QoQ.
Meanwhile, in the given period, employment in the domestic construction industry increased by 3.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2009 and was up 12.7% QoQ.
