
KUNA cited Mr Abdulwahab Al Saqer Kuwait's Consul General to Guangzhou as saying that the Chinese and Kuwaiti oil refinery project in this Asian nation will secure rapid refining and marketing of the national crude oil.
Mr Al Sager said on sidelines of a meeting he held with Ms Peng Khoi director of Zhanjiang Foreign Affairs Bureau, who handed him an invitation to attend planned ceremony for laying corner stone of the Chinese and Kuwaiti oil and petrochemical complex venture in the city.
The Kuwaiti diplomat praised efforts of the administration of the city of Zhanjiang, the Chinese Petrochemical Corporation and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation that had been exerted for 6 resulting in the largest joint energy investment project in Asia.
Mr Al Sager said that the refinery will secure speedy marketing of the refined Kuwaiti crude in the Asian markets. It will have a refining capacity of 15 million tonnes per year. It can also put out 1 million tonnes of ethylene annually.
