Emirates News Agency reported that the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority updated the Sharjah Executive Council on measures it has taken to handle the power crisis in some parts of the emirate.
SEWA told the council, which was chaired by Mr HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, deputy ruler of Sharjah and deputy chairman of the Executive Council, that these steps were adequate enough to bring the situation to normalcy. 'These measures have been instrumental in overcoming the crisis.
SEWA said that such technical faults are common at this time of the year due to steep rise in temperature and unprecedented increase in consumption of electricity. SWEA affirmed that it would strive to ensure easy flow of power current to consumers who were urged to rationalize their consumption so as to ease over-load and pressure on the energy network.
