The News reported that Sui Southern Gas Company Limited has collected almost a billion rupees in 2 months through its campaign to recover outstanding dues from defaulters and those involved in gas theft.

In the areas of Sindh and Balochistan, SSGC teams disconnected gas supplies during May and June this year for non payment of bills and thefts. In the process, the gas utility recovered PKR 252 million from domestic customers and PKR 755 million from industrial and commercial customers in 2 months.

The current recovery campaign is part of the strategy being formulated by the Ministry of Petroleum to reinvigorate public utilities along efficient lines and bring back financial discipline in their operations. The SSGC will continue with its recovery drive in months to come.
