
Pipeline Dubai reported that Italian engineering giant Saipem has been awarded USD 900 million onshore contract by Kuwait Oil Company to build a new gas booster station in West Kuwait.
The engineering, procurement and construction of the new booster station comprising of 3 high and low pressure gas trains to produce 234 million cubic feet per day of dry gas and 69,000 barrels per day of condensate.
The gas is fed from the existing gathering centers 17, 27 and 28 and the new gathering centre 16. The BS-171 contract will also cover a pipeline network from these units to the booster station and an intermediate slug catcher. The activities will be completed within the second quarter of 2013.
