
Samsung lands Saudi deal worth up to USD 1 billion
Construction Week reported that Samsung Engineering has landed the contract to double the capacity of a Luberef oil lubricants refinery in Yanbu.
The South Korean giant managed to fend off competition from companies such as Hyundai Engineering, Saipem and Techinicas Reunidas to win the contract which is estimated to be worth as much as USD 1 billion.
Luberef, whose shareholders consist of Saudi Aramco and Saudi Jadwa Industrial Investment has said that the yield from the plant’s expansion will commence from the end of 2015.
