Siemens Pakistan appoints Mr Zwickl as new CEO

The News reported that the board of directors of Siemens Pakistan has appointed Mr Guenter Zwickl as the new CEO and MD.

Mr Zwickl will continue to focus on streamlining and growing the company’s business in the country and further developing local expertise.

He said that “I am delighted to be in Pakistan and head a company that offers answers to the massive challenges facing the country. At Siemens Pakistan we have a long history of association with the country and have been its partner in progress since its inception. I intend to build on that relationship and am fully committed to continue growing our business here and to play a leading role in developing further the local expertise needed to meet Pakistan’s development goals.”

Mr Zwickl’s distinguished career with Siemens dates back to 1978 when he joined the company’s infrastructure business for traffic surveillance solutions in Austria before moving to Hong Kong. He subsequently managed large projects as Project Director for various projects in Egypt, Cameroon and the former East Germany and between 1995 and 2000 Mr Zwickl was GM of the company’s communication cable and network division in Indonesia and of MECC, a Siemens JV in Thailand.
