Arabian Business reported that global giant Siemens broke ground for its new regional headquarters at Masdar City in Abu Dhabi as part of a strategic partnership with Masdar.

The building marks the establishment of Siemens' anchor presence in Masdar City occupying 18,000 square meters of office space which will eventually accommodate nearly 2,000 staff.

The engineering giant said that the Phase I will see Siemens leasing 12,000 square meters of space which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2013. It will host facilities including a centre of excellence for smart buildings and a leadership development center as well as a conference centre for both customer and corporate use.
