According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in the Q2 of 2009, the turnover index in Turkey's construction industry decreased by 6.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In Q2 this year, the turnover index in building construction in Turkey fell from 155.3 to 149.9 down 3.5% while the turnover index in civil engineering declined from 125.1 to 109.7 down 12.3% both compared to Q2 2008.

Meanwhile, in the quarter in question, the production index in construction decreased by 21% YoY. The production index in building construction in Turkey for the Q2 decreased from 126.0 to 90.9 down 27.8% while the production index in civil engineering rose from 141.8 to 156.6 increasing by 10.4% both compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
