According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute, Turkey monthly industrial turnover index in August decreased by 6.7% compared to same month of the previous year and was down 3.3% over July.

Among the industry sub sectors in Turkey, in August the mining sector index increased by 0.6% while the manufacturing sector index decreased by 7% both compared with the same month of the previous year. In August, the highest decrease rate in the industrial turnover index was in the manufacture of basic metals, which saw a drop of 43.8% YoY and registered a decrease of 7.04% over the previous month.

Meanwhile, in the month in question, the monthly industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals declined by 6.19% over July and was down 44.47% YoY.
