
According to the foreign trade indices for July released by Turkish Statistical Institute based on provisional foreign trade data, the export unit value index for the mining of metal ores in Turkey decreased by 33.62% to 135.2 points in the month in question while the export unit value index for the manufacture of basic metals declined by 18.51% to 131.6 points both compared to July 2008.
Meanwhile, in July the import unit value index for the mining of metal ores declined by 48.24% to 203.8 points while the import unit value index for the manufacture of basic metals decreased by 3.06% to 148.7 points both compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the month in question, the export volume index for the mining of metal ores increased by 13.86% to 326.9 points while the export volume index for the manufacture of basic metals increased by 6.9% to 187.3 points both compared to the corresponding month of 2008.
At the same time, in July this year the import volume index for the mining of metal ores decreased by 18.52% to 100.7 points while the import volume index for the manufacture of basic metals decreased by 29.12% to 162.1 points both compared to the same month of the previous year.
