
Aswat Aliraq reported that Baghdad's Municipality reiterated calls directed at French companies to participate in the strategic projects of the capital.
The statement noted that during a meeting between Mr Sabir al Issawi head of Baghdad's Municipality and Mr Denys Gauer the French Ambassador to Iraq, both sides discussed bilateral relations.
Mr Issawi expressed keenness for the participation of French companies in upcoming projects for water drainage at a cost of USD 700 million to USD 800 million. He pointed out that many French companies are working in Iraq.
Ambassador Gauer stressed that "Baghdad is currently witnessing a security stability that is encouraging companies to work. He promised to deliver the Iraqi desire to the French companies to participate in the strategic projects in all fields.
