Aswat al Iraq reported that Mr Dhia Jaffar DG of South Oil Company disclosed the increase of oil production of Nassiriya oil field to the double to reach 35.000 barrels per day. The formation of Thi Qar oil company will be completed by the mid of next year.

Mr Jaffar said that the production was increased from 15.000 barrels per day to 35.000 barrels per day but it was not the only accomplishment by the company. Lihais Oil Field, 70 kilometers North West of Basra increased its production from 35.000 barrels per day to 70.000 barrels per day.

Mr Jaffar said that the second stage of production will be at the end of this year to reach 50.000 barrels per day. Basra production reached to 2.2 million b/d and the export capacity reached to 2.15 million barrels per day.
