Toscelik temporarily suspends production in Osmaniye following blast

An explosion at midday on October 5 at the electric arc furnace of Turkish steel producer Toscelik's flat steel and construction steel plant in Osmaniye in southern Turkey caused injury to 18 workers who have been hospitalized. Operations at the facility have been temporarily suspended while an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the explosion.

Tosçelik's Osmaniye plant has an annual crude steel output capacity of 2 million tonnes with 170 MT electric arc furnace and a ladle furnace of same capacity.
