ANSA reported that Turkey's exports of steel in 2011 went up by 24% YoY and was recorded as USD17.1 billion.

According to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers Association, Turkey produced 31 million tonnes of steel in January to November 2011 period. In the same term, Turkey's imports of iron steel products went down by 3.4% YoY when compared to the previous year and was recorded as 9.89 million tonnes.
