Hot dip galvanized coil prices in Turkey are expected to increase as domestic HRC prices are also on the rise that 0.5 mm thick HDG is now quoted at USD 920 per tonne to 1,000 per tonne from producers. It was USD 900 per tonne to USD 950 per tonne in mid April.

Sources said that prices of HDG are shortly expected to increase some USD 15 per tonne to USD 20 per tonne further, as scrap prices are also increasing.

A HDG producer said that it is a chain reaction; scrap costs push HRC prices up and HRC is our base material. Demand for HDG in Turkey is moderate, having strengthened from the comparatively slow month of April.
HRC is quoted at USD 740 per tonne to USD 750 per tonne from Turkish producers. However, it is expected to reach USD 765 per tonne to USD 780 per tonne.
