According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in April this year Turkey's total hot rolled flat steel exports amounted to 140,545 tonnes decreasing by 38% YoY and up 40.8% compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled USD 96.4 million, falling by 44.6% compared to April 2011 and increasing by 36.9% over the previous month.
Turkey's hot rolled flat steel exports in the first 4 months of the current year totaled 405,062 tonnes decreasing by 39.5% compared to the same period of 2011.
HR flat steel exports to Italy, which was the largest hot rolled flat steel export destination of Turkey in 2011 accounting for 44% of total Turkish HR flat steel exports, decreased by 83% in January to April of the current year compared to the same period of 2011.
On the other hand, in April Turkey's cold rolled flat steel exports stood at 10,786 tonnes increasing by 15.1% compared to the same month of the previous year but fell 21.9% in the first 4 months of the current year compared to January to April 2011 amounting to 34,665 tonnes.
