According to the statistics provided by Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association, in January this year Turkey's total hot rolled flat steel exports amounted to 65,992 tonnes decreasing by 34.45% YoY and up 34% compared to the previous month of December.
Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled USD 46.2 million falling by 29.4% compared to January 2011 and increasing by 26.5% over the previous month.
Turkey's hot rolled flat steel exports to Italy which was the largest hot rolled flat steel export destination of Turkey in 2011 accounting for 44% of total Turkish HR flat steel exports decreased significantly in January compared to the same month of 2011.
On the other hand, in January Turkey's cold rolled flat steel exports stood at 7,891 tonnes decreasing by 21.75% compared to the previous month and down 30.32% YoY.
