Turkish automotive sector production declined by 8% in January to 84,368 units from the month before while it was up 6.5% YoY to 1.18 million units

The Automotive Industry Association said that automotive sales dropped 34.5 % to 31,196 units in January and were up 9.1% to 894,405 units in the 12-month period.

Mrr Hayri Erce of association said “The IMF has revised the growth outlook for Turkey from 2% to 0.4%. In the light of this information, we expect the total sales to be within a 775 to 825,000 range.”

Automotive unit sales were 910,867 in 2011.
