According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in August this year the producer price index for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.26% over July and was up 4.56% YoY while an average rise of 9.33% was registered for the latest twelve months.

In August, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry fell by 0.68% MoM and was down 8.77% compared to August 2011. Meanwhile, the average increase in the latest twelve months was 12.36%.

On the other hand, during the given month the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products except machinery fell 0.66% compared to the previous month and was up 0.29% YoY. Meanwhile, in the sector in question an average increase of 8.22% in the PPI index was registered in the latest 12 months
