
According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association, in June this year Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 113,845 units decreasing by 12% YoY and up by 9.1% from May.
In June, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 45,814 units down 22% its commercial vehicle production amounted to 49,537 units down 2% while tractor production amounted to 4,654 units remaining unchanged, all compared to June 2011.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in June was 73% down from 76% recorded in May. In the first 6 months of the year, the production capacity utilization rate was 72%.
Meanwhile, in the H1 of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 591,259 units down 8% YoY. Passenger car output in the given period totaled 283,425 units decreasing by 16% YoY while commercial vehicle production stood at 281,291 units down 2% compared to the corresponding half of 2011.
